    1. This was a pretty good read. Slater was fourteen years old when he helped the other foster kids at the home they were living in and escaped after discovering the foster dad had killed the youngest girl, Mia. Slater is the king he is the oldest of his siblings they grew up on the streets and growing up the way he did you had to be tough and he will go to any lengths to protect his family. Slater meets Piper one night at a bar after he kicks some dudes but for making fun of her for stuttering. The [...]

    2. ARC provided by author in exchange of honest reviewCollision. It is define as an instance of one moving object or person striking violently against another. So what happens when two worlds collide? Two hearts? Two strangers colliding on one path? Is it fate or just random circumstance? When we collide are we ready for the impact and the consequences that comes along with it?If you are familiar with Evie Harper and her previous books, you would know that Evie is indeed a storyteller. She grips he [...]

    3. DNF'ed at chapter 3.Prologue was extremely well put together. The emotions and the gravity of the situation was heartfelt. Thereafter, I went into the book bubbling with excitement. However, if simply didn't come together for me at all. It was a slow and tedious read for me (until chapter 3). Then I had issues with the lead characters feelings and the way the story started to come together.*ARC provided on behalf of the author for an honest review* Thanks!

    4. Collision: the act of collidingEvie Harper takes you on a ride where hidden truths are revealed, and family secrets exposed as we drift through this alternative world she has created full of street thugs, fast cars and brutal beatings. This is a ride through the harsh streets of Portland where potholes, twists and turns exist on every road.Slater. In the prologue you see him as child full of raw emotions. Skip to Chapter One and you see him as the man he has become. He is the King, the oldest of [...]

    5. We do it for family starsFoster care let this family down, not a family by blood but of love, being together was survival which lead to the start of The portland street kings a street gang.A family that helps runaways and broken kids like they once where but at the same time a family name with a reputation that proceeds them. It's a story of how the past can define the future but in an instant it can change. The past can also come back to haunt and it does, some good and bad.Slate is the head of t [...]

    6. +++ 5 COLLIDING STARS!!! +++“I’m going to claim you, Piper. I’m going to own you, body and soul. I’m going to bring you into my world and you’re going to be my queen.”Collision was the first Evie Harper book I've read and I was not disappointed at all!! It reminded me of The Fast and the Furious mixed with The Outsiders. Growing up in Portland, you had to be tough and gain respect, if not you'd be walked on and get killed. If I tried to describe to you how this book made me feel, I’ [...]

    7. This series has lots of potential. Its a gangbanger romance. (At least I think that's a trope now.) Obviously, being gang members, the men are all tattooed bad boys. There was lots of drama, a good amount of action, and a really good plot twist. All good things for fans of these types of books. That being said, while being a good enough read, the story did not resonate with me. It was lacking a level of maturity that I would expect from 30 y/o characters. I thought, based on the super emotional a [...]

    8. After reading and loving You Loved Me At My Ugliest and You Loved Me At My Weakest, I couldn't wait to give the Portland Street Kings Series a try. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. Collision is book 1 and it really was ridiculous. I would have probably enjoyed it more if the characters were a lot younger. Slater was in his early thirties and Piper in her late twenties and they both felt so immature. Everything from their thoughts and actions were childish. I think the only thing that I loved [...]

    9. Review-Jo RushtonFacebook: facebook/TheHopelessRTSU: tsu/HopelessRomanticsBlog: thehopelessromanticsbookblog.bI've enjoyed previous books by Evie Harper so as soon as I discovered that this series was on it's way, I was eager to see what it was all about. The first book in the "Portland Street Kings" series got off to a good start and my interest was piqued. The story began with a prologue that took me back in time to how the Street Kings began. Slater (the head of the gang), had not been given [...]

    10. The prologue was super intense, got off on a nice disturbing start. I loved how the characters were formed and their take on the system. So much pain and heartache. But the story contradicts itself. Slater is suppose to be a harden murdering criminal, but he wants to save everyone. Rather than settling issues with guns or blow his enemies away, he packs brass knuckles and baseball bats. Reminds me of the nineteen eighty three movie "The Outsiders". For a man who hates the system he falls for Pip [...]

    12. Get ready to lose your breath! My god I can't even find the words to express how amazing this book is! I've been in the system and I can honestly say I was lucky. But this book touches on the ones who weren't so lucky. It's hard the system is seriously flawed those who are meant to help and protect us and keep us safe don't. They only care about their paychecks and not about those they are supposedly helping. It sucks I've seen kids be taken from bad only to be placed in worse. And Piper she's wh [...]

    14. I loved the beginning of this book so much. I totally felt it, majorly heart grabbing. When it got further along in the book, it lost me, which is so sad. So much of it seems too silly so I couldn't take it seriously. Even though I majorly fell for the first bit, I can't give a high rating because of what happened later. I do believe that many will love the entire story. This may just be an issue for me.

    15. **JOSIE'S REVIEW**I really enjoy this author’s writing so when I heard she had another book coming out I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. This author has this uncanny ability to write gritty novels and that turn into the most amazing reads I have ever read. This book started off with a bang and kept me interested until the very end. The prologue crushed me and did I expect anything less? No because that is what this author does. She starts off the book in a way that you just have to keep [...]

    16. This, my friends, is what I like to call a guilty pleasure. It's one of those books where you escape reality, losing yourself for a little while and loving every minute of it. It's been several weeks since I've read Collision, but as I write this review I still remember how much I enjoyed the story and connected with the characters. That's the sign of a good book!Collision starts off with a bang, and I'm not talking about a gunshot ;) Piper and Slater meet in a bar where she's bullied about her [...]

    17. Couldn't get into it after reading about them having sex in a toilet and the heroine leaning on the toilet SEAT, UGGHHH!! mood killer.

    18. I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC via The Booktique in exchange for an honest opinion.Right I have to get this off my chest - I floved Evie from reading her debut book You Loved Me At My Darkest and the follow up was just as good. Then she announced the release of Collision, the first book in the Portland Kings Series and I started to feel a little anxious. See I've had this happen before - I love a debut book / series and start stalking the author and build a relationship only to discove [...]

    19. When I first learned of this new series from Evie Harper, I knew right away that it was one that I would be reading. The plotline and characters looked so fresh and original and I was literally dying to get my hands on this first book in the series. Collision starts out with a bang, the drama and intensity draw you into the story from the very first few words, spinning a dark tale of foster children trapped in the house from hell. After a tragedy strikes, a young Slater manages to free himself a [...]

    20. Complimentary copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. The story begins with Slater, a twelve year old leading his three younger foster siblings in an attempt to flee their abusive home. I'll admit, I had a hard time with this one, simply because I struggled with my ability to suspend disbelief. My thirteen year old is incapable of changing his socks most days, so the idea that he could not only help his siblings escape and survive on the streets for twenty years is just too [...]

    21. NoI need more! Like now! Great book. Need more from this series, like right now!The book was phenomenal. I loved all of the characters, their development in the story, the plot, Everything! How can one simple story that I did not believe I would enjoy, create a place in my heart. The passion in the romance and the way they were, oh my.I am so ready for the continuation in this series.

    23. DNF @ 21%, because like its name, this was a train wreck of a story.First, some technical issues. Nothing screams low-effort like a poorly formatted ebook. My Kindle edition changed font type and size several times over the course of the prologue and the three-and-a-half chapters I read. And the last paragraph of each chapter was in bold, for some reason? I thought it was another glitch at first--heaven only knows how many I've had to iron out from my own works when I'm formatting--but it kept h [...]

    25. This series starts off with a heartbreaking bang and then takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride. Collision is book 1 in the series and introduces you to the family and all of its members. You can't help but fall in love with everyone. Family, Courage & Honor is what has kept Slater (26) strong through years of hell and living on the streets. He has made a name for his family and himself, they own Portland Mechanic and are the top family in illegal street racing but, everything he do [...]

    26. ~*~Review~*~Disclaimer: I received as an ARC courtesy of the author in exchange for an honest reviewThis was one of those books that I stalked the author for. I wanted to know everything about this book since the author announced its inception. At first I was confused as to why I wasn't able to give this book a solid rating of 5, but as I reflected on each scene and my reactions to them I came to the conclusion that this book was a solid 4 and here's whyThe characters were relatable and I fell in [...]

    27. Holy hellI just finished this book in one sitting! Evie Harper has done it again by writing another 5 star read! I love her You Loved Me series, so I was so excited to have the honor to read an ARC of Collision. I am in awe of Evie's writing; I don't even know where to begin this review. It was simplyA-maaazing!!!"We are children who have lost all hope, who had our childhoods stolen away, who don't smile often and when we do, it's rare and something worth remembering. This is all we've ever know [...]
